 Trilingual Palm
Guide to Buddhist Terminology I
The
Palm Guide to Buddhist Terminology I --- a trilingual, English-Chinese-Tibetan,
easy-to-find translator's guide. It is also useful for students of Buddhist
philosophy. In this part 1, the Guide serves to provide definitions and
supplement information in three languages, covering the central ideas and
root terms of Buddhist philosophy. These terms will be primarily derive from the main Sutra texts used by the four
lineages: Gelug, Kagyu, Sakya and Nyingma such as the Lam
RimChenmo authored by Lama Tsong Khapa and the Lam Rim by
Pabongka Rinpoche; Mahamudra; Lam Drey and dZog Chen. Foundation Tantra
texts such as that of the Four Series texts will form the major references
for terms and definitions related to Tantra. Terms
from the main practice of the Jonang lineage
namely, Kalachakra, will also be included as His
Holiness the Dalai Lama has mentioned that the lineage shall be preserved and
revived. Part II, III so forth of the Palm Guide will successively add more
complex terminology based on intermediate and higher level Buddhist concepts
and add useful information.
